St. Ann - our beloved namesake - is more than a patron saint of grandmothers and, in some traditions, a guide for lost things. She embodies quiet strength, deep love, and the enduring wisdom passed through generations. At St. Ann’s Center, we see her spirit every day in the brave young mothers we serve - women who have faced immense loss and hardship, yet rise again with grace and courage.
Because of supporters like you, they never have to walk alone.
Let me introduce you to Princess, a remarkable young woman just 19 years old, who lost both her parents in the last two years.
“I found St. Ann’s when I was seven months pregnant. It’s the best thing that ever happened.
"I had my daughter on July 26 and came to St. Ann’s on July 29. Some nights she’d cry and I didn’t know why - I would just rock her. The staff came, calmed me down, sang her a lullaby - and she’d go right to sleep. I was so grateful.”
Today, Princess is learning to navigate motherhood with confidence. Parenting classes, mental health support, and life skills like setting boundaries and building self-awareness have given her the foundation to grow. As she says, “St. Ann’s is a stepping stone - where it’s okay to make mistakes and learn from them every time.”
