Washington, D.C. – “Bid for brighter futures!” – that’s the unofficial motto for this year’s Hope Blossoms event, says Sister Nancy Downing, CEO of St. Ann’s Center for Children, Youth and Families. Sister Nancy and the Hope Blossoms Planning Committee announced today that, for the first time ever, a Silent Auction (plus Raffle and Live Auction) will anchor the annual cocktail reception and awards ceremony supporting the families served at St. Ann’s Center.
Early bidding opens May 1 for over two dozen unique items and experiences – including live sports events, VIP concert experiences, vacation getaways, and mouth-watering dining and beverage experiences around the DMV. All winning bids will be announced on May 14, during Hope Blossoms. Those who cannot attend in person can still participate by registering online.
“We thank our generous donors who have made this Silent Auction possible!” Sister Nancy Downing said. “We have something for everyone. Please register, check out the items, and most of all, have fun! We can’t wait for some competitive, good-natured bidding wars – all for a good cause.”
The Hope Blossoms Auction Committee emphasized that every winning bid helps St. Ann’s Center’s mission of supporting women and their children facing crisis. Last year, 30 women and their 36 children participated in St. Ann’s supportive and transitional housing programs and wraparound services. “By joining in the fun of the Silent Auction and raffle, you can help more families write new futures through St. Ann’s programs,” Sister Nancy said.

- Event Location: Columbia Country Club, Chevy Chase, MD
