The Power of Connection: Note from Sister Nancy Downing, CEO
At Hope Blossoms this May, St. Ann’s Center alumna Africa shared brilliantly about her journey from a young mother facing life’s storms, to where she stands today: a case worker, pouring into other young women the way she once needed.
One line from Africa’s testimony that night has stayed with me:
"I’ve learned that strength doesn’t just come from standing alone. It comes from connection. From being open. From something as simple as a hello or a smile.”
Connection is so critical for young women like Africa, who come to St. Ann’s often facing a “storm of unknowns.” Then – supported by caring peers, staff, and volunteers – women learn they don’t have to carry it all alone.
St. Ann’s is a place where women lift each other up. A community that exists because of you.
St. Ann’s Day on July 26 reminds us of the power of supporting one another. Please consider joining our St. Ann’s Day fundraising campaign, which will help the 20 mothers and children living with us this summer, and the additional families who we expect to welcome by Fall.
Thank you and God bless you!

St. Ann's Day Giving Campaign
Make your gift here!
In honor of St. Ann's Feast Day on July 26, your gift carries forward the legacy of our patron saint—a community where one generation supports the next. Because of donors like you, mothers and children don't have to face their challenges alone. Your generosity builds a community where families find safety, strength, and belonging.
As one former resident shared:"The young women were like my sisters. We laughed, struggled, and figured it out together. My son was given his childhood back. He blossomed here in the safety of their doors."
Celebrate St. Ann's legacy by helping another family find safety, belonging, and hope.
